Overall
I recently completed a 2 week intensive Spanish language course (as a 'True' Beginner) and thoroughly enjoyed the class time, my class mates, accommodation (organised by the school), the friendly helpful staff and of course the teachers who had to look at my dumbfounded face as they spoke Spanish to me :)

THEY TEACH SPANISH IN SPANISH.  So instead of telling you what a word means, they try and act it out and you guess it.  If you still don't understand, they tell you to look in the dictionary which I can do at home.  I wanted to take the beginner's course to learn the fundamentals of conjugations, the why's or handy tips to remember rules but the course did not teach me any of that.  Even trying to learn a word such as 'mar', they pointed to the water... okay, is that 'water', 'sea', 'ocean', 'river'?? Don't know? Look in the dictionary?  When I didn't understand what they were talking about or what the exercise was (textbook was in Spanish as well), I would ask questions but they ended up just ignoring me and continuing with the class.  The lessons were very unstructured and frustrating.  I learnt more from a waiter who could speak both English and Spanish than from 1 week intensive course here.  IF YOU SPEAK ONLY ENGLISH, this is NOT the course for you.
