Food and nightile is more expensive than in France. Travel is not but I travelled a lot during my year abroad. But the rent is really low for the accomodation

Should plan to study for a year instead of a semester --- but after I finished studying in Orebro, Sweden, I also exchanged to Osaka, Japan for a semester. Then I returned to USA in the June of 1999.

Don't worry about the weather; Swedes are open if you knock to their door, they're called "cold" because why should they be first to try to create contact with you? : go once, go again, and you'll REALLY meet them, then.

I would advise to visit website : www.erasmusfilm.com (also called www.simoisuedois.com) : a film (documentary) about exchange students. Gives a fair picture of experiences abroad...

living expenses in nordic countries are unbeleivably high so be prepared to save up before you come.

When an international student goes to Sweden to study is almost treated as a local one with a card and all the advantages..it is a very expensive experience, but it worths without any doubt!!!

Be prepared for cold weather and during winter for very short days - it can be depressing. Also count on the fact that food and night life are very expensive.
