I would make it into something more usefull. Like a rehab center for worn out alcoholist teachers and students.

Cons:
Milan is big, noisy, industrial city. Bit ugly, suburbs are DAMN ugly. Lots of imigrants, crowded transportation - wich is even sluggish. NO NIGHTBUS - so forget late nigth partiyng, although taking a taxi is not as expensive as I was prepared before it. Quite hard to find a proper apartment, don't even expect to get any help. People dress ugly, I could hardly belive it. It's not the same milan as it was before.
Pros:
Go elsewhere. There are much nicer places in italy than Milan. Travel a lot. Meet friends they will help you and make your stay more cheerfull.
And buy a sunglass!

Personal comments
If you are in a hurry don't ask any directions from italians. Even if they have no clue, they try to help you and you end held up by precious minutes.
Overall the italians are nice people, but I have no idea how they managed to survive till now. Milan is a big chaotic mess of humans. Good luck.

Housing
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Independently - I had no other choice
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why?
It's hard to find an apartment. Especially a "cheap" one.
