Housing is one of the worst things about AIT. It is very noisy campus. There is some sort of repair shop in teh basement of one of the student dorms (where many students are staying). Almost every morning there were noise from hammering, drilling, cutting metal, moving furniture, refrigerators etc.... Totally unacceptable level of noise almost daily. Also, the garbage dump is right in the middle of the student village. The stench from it does not make it a pleasant living experience if you are staying near it, and many students do as it is right amongst the student dorms... Also totally unacceptable.
And the sportsfacilities are just next to the student dorms too, consequently there is a lot of noise from ppl playing tennis, basketball and badminton from about 5pm til past midnight EVERY DAY. The living environment at the AIT makes the AIT not a good place to study. For this reason alone I would recommend people not to study at AIT.

Why?
Pathumthani is pretty far from Bankok so I missed the city life after a while. If I had stayed a second semester, I had rather live in Bangkok for the second one.

The campus is really good value for money, especially as compared with European accomodation. Ir is preferable to choose a room with air con though, because it is hot there!

AIT is quite far from Bangkok (about 40 kms), so it seems to be hard to live in Bangkok and to study at AIT at the same time. Moreover, life on the campus was very nice !

I totally agree with 'screenboy' review. Campus is very noisy! The student accomodation maintenance office is right in the basement of the E dorm. Very noisy every day from neverending maintenance work! And yes, the location of the garbage dump is also unbelieable, in the student village. Stinks badly. Can't imagine how anyone can live near it. Overall, campus is very boring, and too much noise all the time from the tennis courts and badminton courts and from maintenance work. Always.
Was very disturbing. ALso, the standard dorm rooms are very small and hot! No aircon!
