The acceptance letters look like crap, but they're official. I wish I had known more about the university and that they would have sent me a course schedule beforehand.

Final comments
Don't buy international plane tickets from china, they're really expensive. It was fun to go to shanghai by train, you should try it.

Buy a good quality Chinese grammar book with explanations in your own language, the quality of books available in China are generally good but the English explanations are sometimes wrong and sometimes comical.

The main bulk of the course content is on Characters, Grammar, Listening, Vocabulary and Reading skills. In order to succeed and do well verbally, it is imperative to make as many Chinese friends as possible as this is not the emphasis in the classroom.

My overall language and communication experience in China (generally), and at BLCU (in particular), was one of continuous learning. "Putonghua" is challenging for any newcomer/beginner, but also equally rewarding.
