Course recommendations
American university provides, in general, a good student/faculty ratio. Thus, the relationship with the professors is easy and close. Take advantage of it and learn as much as you can. There's an enourmous variety of courses, choose wisely according to your objectives and possibilities.

Personal comments
There's plenty of scholarships for American students. However, I would suggest more efforts from the University regarding scholarships for international students.

Final comments
Boston is in New England, relatively close to cities like New York and to Canada. The univerity plans trips to all the interesting spots almost every weekend, check it out! Once again, take advantage of the accessibility of the faculty and learn! American university has a high percentage of international students, compared to European universities. Therefore, be openminded to new experiences and adapt to the local culture and to the people from other countries you'll meet. If you do that, you will enjoy your stage for sure :-)

It was not legal for me to work
Personal spending habits
At home I lived with my parents at that time, therefore, all the expenses related to living costs increased. Food and accomodation are more expensive in the U.S. than in Spain. Telephone expenses also increased haivng to call to Spain. nightlife is really up to your spare time and your personal choice. I summary living abroad resulted more expensive than living at home for me.

Personal comments
I already knew before going to Boston that it was one of the most expensive cities in the U.S. You can save more money if you choose not living on Campus because you decide how much you spend in almost everything.

Best cafes on Newbury st., pretty close to Emmanuel College. Excelent Jazz concerts in bars at night and parks during daytime. Delicious seafood at Union Oyster House, speciality in Lobsters. Other pretty good restaurants at Quincy Market area and Chinatown. Student's favourite night club: Avalon, dance, house and trance music, really close to Emmanuel College. Also, good pool halls at the same area.

Housing
Type of housing: On campus
Arranged by: Independently - My choice
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why?
I'd rather live in an apartment/house because: 1.- Considering rent, food and utilities, the final living cost for an apartment is lower than on Campus. 2.- No need of sharing the room with your roommate and restrooms with the rest of the students living in the same floor. 3.- More flexibility and quality regarding meals. Living on campus implies eating the food the cafeteria/Dining hall offers and at the scheduled time. 4.- Dorms are usually noisy spaces because there are too many students, with different schedules and different objectives. Therefore, it's difficult to have the appropriate environment for effective study.
