Teachers in France are really more of just lecturers. Recitation and student participation isn't priority. Not too much work, you'll really have time to go out and travel, and classes are always with French students, either in English or French.

phone was pay as you go instead of a plan, houseing costs because of the exchange rate between CAD and EUR and travel because, hey i was in Europe i wasnt going to waste the chance to see it

There was no on-campus housing but were many privately-run dormatories. There are many local families who host students year after year. There are also many apartments close to the school.
