Pouagam T
Cameroon, Graduate

Overall

My experience with cardiff unievrsity
Ismael R
Morocco, Graduate
Business Studies, 2019
Overall
I am a djiboutian young lady currently living in Morocco to pursue my  university studies.
My experience as a student at SIST Sunderland university in Morocco( associate college of cardiff university) is quite amazing and I can say that I really learned alot about not business management but life in general.  Teachers accompanied me throughout the years ,they showed me patience and compassion. Staff at the university were really by my side and helped with every single detail. Assignments and exams were oderly presented to us and courses were given with a lot of helpfull case studies and in class activities to better understand them.

Personal spending habits
I spend more in telephone because international calls are more expensive than national ones, in travelling since I travelled much more than at home (I wanted to take advantage of being abroad and I wanted to know new places). And I expend less in nightlife as I used to go to house parties more than to pubs and discos.

It is a very dynamic university : a lots of associations, sports. It would be a shame not to take of the student life in assocations.

In Cardiff university the courses are quite easy compare to the one I had in France. Then, the foreign student may take advantage to his free time to be include in associations, wich is an interesting experience.

Housing
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why?
Because living in a house enables you to be more independent than being with a family or on campus and also because you are likely to have a close relationship with your house mates.

A mixed bag
Michelle C
United Kingdom, Undergraduate
Translation/Interpretation, 2023
Overall
The language courses are relatively good, but some language departments for a certain Germanic language aren't very organized. Also a warning, the year abroad they promise isn't as free as they advertise it to be; there are a great deal of restrictions on what you can do.
The main draw to Cardiff University for me was their offer of a Modern Languages and Translation degree - which was a rarity when I was applying to different universities.
The campus is very pretty, although at the moment, construction is underway on the Student's Union and it will be finished in two years.
With everything moving online, some things are significantly simpler (no commuting is a blessing - Cardiff has awful weather).
