Overall
I wish I had known...

I loved it but I'm not sure everybody would.

Why?
Even though I didn't want to at first, living in the dorm really gave me a unique experience. I was able to learn the languge rapidly and adapt to the culture easily.

Personal comments
Living in the dorm and making friends with the locals made all the difference in the world!! I am very pleased with my language ability now after attending school in Taiwan! Many people speak English in Taiwan and want to practice English--some will let you use Chinese and some will not. However, there are those who do not speak English at all. So, in summation, take the time to learn the langauge and expand your experience!
