I didnt speak a word of Danish and as bad as it is I left Copenhagen not much wiser about their complicated language! However, this was not a problem at all as practically everyone speaks English to a very high level, which is great. Many Danes speak several languages.

Thankfully the Danes are a very educated society so language was very rarely a barrier to communication

English is understood and spoken perfectly everywhere. I learned danish just for fun - and it was fun.
