Deakin University

The all-including housing on campus was a little more expensive than the private flat sharing at home. The telephone only ran over phone cards or mobile phone. Nightlife is more expensive, depending on where one is going (hardly any concession for Opera tickets etc.). Travelling on a trip to Central Australia organised by the university was cheaper than travelling individually and a great experience and opportunity to meet other students, local and international.

Be aware that you can only choose from a limited amount of courses as you are not allowed to exceed a specific number of credit points per semester.

Depending on where you come from, you might just have to adjust to a different academic life and university system. It is however well worth the experience, even if some difficulties might occur. Staff is always friendly and more than willing to help at any time.

The Melbourne Campus of Deakin University is about 45 min. from the city centre (by tram). I would have preferred a location a little closer to the city.
