Most apartments do not have a phone connected. You need to get your own cell phone. Not too expensive for local use though.

Food and in general everything is cheaper than in Norway. Nightlife is generally cheaper in Barcelona, but I went out more than I do at home, so I spent more:-) Same for travel.

Barcelona is one of the most expensive Spanish cities, but still quite cheap in comparison to places like US, UK, Scandinavia, Switzerland, ... Basically I spent more money because I went out much more than at home!
