Housing
Type of housing: With a family
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: With a family
Why?
I think that this is about the best way to be able to absorb the culture and get a real day-to-day feel for the language. Not to mention homecooked meals!!

I didn't get to speak Spanish as much as I had hoped. I was constantly surrounded by other Americans from my home school. I highly recommend getting away from the people you know and try to meet new people.

I wish I had known...
I wish I had known it was going to be so HOT! I also wish I had realized that, in order to blend in, you can't wear jeans and a shirt...they all dress up over there (even in 104 degree weather!)
