Because in the Czech Republic, the country of my home uni, the prices of food and accomodation are lower than in Austria. I have spent less on telephone because I used almost only skype and a pre-paid card.

I was really surprised that trains and busses were so expensive. It is better to have your own car with you if you have one. For example, we made a trip to Graz, 5 people by car - it was only 10 euros per person. By train it would have been 65 euros...

actually you have not got a choice, you have to accept this kind of accomodation, because Eisenstadt is a small town, where you can find some another accomodation very hardly.

Incoming-courses are quite interesting, the teachers are all nice. From the other courses I have taken only too, the were very interesting for me but the material for the course is sometimes not so easy to obtain.

I wish I had known...

Nothing comes to my mind... I guess I was well prepared, as I have already been studying in a foreign country.

Final comments

As I have said I liked my stay very much!!! If you come from CZ or SK, there are cheap bus connections, it's easy to get there. There are not many internationals, only about 20-30 but also from countries like Croatia, Romania... nice people:-) Ausrians are also very nice, bit you will have to make the first step to get closer.

I wish I had known...

Eisenstadt is realy small town, by students called "pampa", if you like big cities, don´t go there!

In my opinion:

Travel tips: - Esterházy Palace, Eisenstadt - Soprón, a town on the austrian-hungarian border - the castle Forchtenstein - the "heurigers" (wine-cellars) in all villages around Eisenstadt, (St.Georgen,Kleinhöflein,Oggau,Oslip,Trausdorf a.d. Wulka)
