Dornbirn lays in Vorarlberg, which is the richest part of Austria. People have money here and image is quite important. The city is small, but has ALL facilities you might need except a large night life

Personal spending habits
I have the feeling life is cheaper then in the Netherlands. I had a special pre-paid card at Telering which aloud you to call between 20:00 till 7:00 for free. Travel a bit more, since I made use of the central position of Austria and travelled to Switzerland, Italy, Germany, Hungary and ofcourse within Austria!

the 24-7 access to the building makes sure that it is not needed to have an connection at home. Traveling with the train is cheap. No text books are needed, all it provided in powerpoint or in hand-outs (saves a lot of money)

Academic
Course recommendations
Maybe since I am used to the high Dutch level, but in my eyes the courses were a bit easy. Erasmus students from other countries had a way harder time then me or another Dutchperson.

The facilities are great and a 24-7 access to the building. I just think that some teachers should have a bit less ego!

Personal comments
I wanted to improve my German, but went to Austria. There is a strong dialect there, but people try to speak high German as much as possible. I got used to the dialect pretty fast and am in some level able to speak it! People are very friendly and take the time when you do not know a word. They have respect when a foreigner speaks their language (well).
