Travelling is also quite expensive in the US, because you always have to fly due to the long distances.
Make use of all the services provided by the University. They are usually very good in the clubs they maintain, career services, health services, athletic/sports facilities...

Overall
The Georgia Institute of Technology is one of the best engineering schools in the world. It has world-class faculty, and located in the heart of Atlanta, it is just a walk away from all sorts of exciting activities. The dining services could improve, but overall, it was a great and rewarding experience
