Tromsø University College was established in 1994 through the merger of four previously independent colleges. The college now has
2,200 students and 260 staff. It comprises four faculties and a Central Administration, and is situated in four different locations on the
island of Tromsøya in Tromsø. The four faculties are the Faculty of Health Sciences, the Faculty of Engineering and Economics, the Faculty of Art, Music Conservatory, and the Faculty of Education.
