Personal spending habits
I don't travel when I am at home whereas I travelled a lot when I was in Finland. It was the unique opportunity to visit Russia and other East European Countries. As far as the nightlife is concerned, I was with other exchange students so we went out almost every night. It's a special atmosphere.

Course recommendations
It was really really different to french courses, I learned a lot we were always mixed with finnish, swedish, and foreigners. Tearchers love to know the point of vieew of all people in their classroom, the aim everybody has to speak ! We had also a blackboard on line to do our homework or to recover our courses, we don't have this in France and I have appreciated this a lot !

Housing
Type of housing: A room exchange
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: A room exchange
Why?
Because to improve a language it's not only on the office but along the day, share a flat with an other exchange student is really wealthy !

There was 3 buildings reserved for finnish and foreign students, we were next to the school near the capital center only one station on train. It was not really expensive and comfortable. So it was really good conditions for leaving in Helsinki (exactly I lived in Passila - opastinsilta street)

Student life
Describe host city:
Travel: Takes place mostly within the university/student environment
Nightlife: Takes place mostly outside the university/student environment
Activities: Takes place both within and outside of the university/student environment
Personal social experience
Personal comments
My favorite place is LUX to go out at night, Kungliga is also very good, and their all in the centre of Helsinki. The hokey games are also great, Finish opera is a must and if you love nature, Finland is the best place to go, it has many places to visit, such as Nuxio, Lapland, and such. And of course, skiing in the winter! Finland has many skiing resorts.
The courses were great; they gave a lot of support to exchange students.

It is quite good but it is a bit far if you have to walk home from city. And the last train to the flat is at 2 o'clock, so, it is a bit early. It was quite good .
