Personal recommendation
HSE is a very good business school, has a high international reputation, and offers a lot to its students. The student organization, KY, is excellent and organizes many social events. Each exchange student gets two tutors, who take care of you and help you throughout your stay. HSE is a very good school and I would chose it again if I could.

Do as much as you can and participate in all KY events and trips! From Helsinki you can easily go to Tallinn, Sweden, or St. Petersburg. Finland itself is a very beautiful and interesting country with friendly people and many cultural habits! Take your chance and enjoy a very bright and hot summer and a very dark and cold winter.

Basically nordic countries have a high level of english so it´s quite easy to interact there with all sort of people, i haven´t many problems in that sense. Of course be bale to speak finnish can be quite interesting in order to interact completelu with people, but you can manage there withou problems just speaking english.

Helsinki has an important night life. Nice spots are Helsinki Club, SODA, Pravda, Amarillo and Molly Malone Irish bar. Kaivopuisto park it´s a nice place that have to be visited as many other like the harbour, the cathedral....Concerning events.... when you are in a foreign country everything has to be basically followed.

They offer many possibilities and less or more money. You can also live in a KY students appartment, which is very cheap and nice. However, the scholl organizes the housing for each exchange student, which is very good.

You have to know that in Finland rules are rules, if you are able to understand that fact, everything is going to go great.

You should travel to Talin (Estonia), Stockolm and San Petesburg. Finland is a good place to travel arround as well. There are many ways to reach your travel aims, train, bus, Ferry, but you shouldn't forget your student card and you should try to get the Finnish student car as well to get discounts.

Finnish is a very difficult language! I was disappointed that the school did not require we study finnish in the school. I would have liked to learn the basics. However, it was not neccesary as most people in Finland speak English, and one could get by quite easily without speaking any Finnish.
