Personal comments
- "Zetor": restaurant (reinder meat and salmon) + dancing bar: worth to see it at least once, typically Finnish atmosphere and fun garanteed!
- More classic: "Sokos 10th Floor" and "Torni" to have a drink with a wonderful view on the city.
- Trendiest night club: "Kerma"
- Best Sandwiches of the city: Cafe Esplanaadi.
- Place to be on the 1st of May: Kaivopuisto parc to take part in the huge picnic hold there every year to celebrate the end of the winter.

Housing
Type of housing: On campus
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: On campus
Why?
Shared appartments with 3 to 5 rooms. Students residences, where it is really easy to meet new people, both exchange students and Finns. Good way as well to meet students from other schools and universities.

The school and the student association offer 3 different places to live:
- Ida: Shared appartments, 45 min from school by bus. ~800 Fim/ month
- Pasila: Shared appartments, 20 min from school by train.
- Kamppi: flat for one person in a building reseved for students, 5 min walking from school and 5 min walking from the center of Helsinki.
The school offers an excellent and wide range of choices. No problem with the housing.

Academic
Course recommendations
The school offers 2 formats of courses: courses during all the semester (once or twice a week) and intensive courses (usually lasting 3 weeks). Although the intensive format may be attractive because you attend the class for three weeks and have the exam at the end, be careful not to have too many of these intensive courses at the same time. Indeed, they require the same amount of study (about 20-25 hours teaching + assignments) in a short time.

Personal comments
The school is very flexible and gives opportunity to students to organize their academic year in a very freely way. Very good facilities at school: computers (one of the computer room is open 24h a day, 7 days a week), internet access, many teachers put the slides of their course on a webpage, weekly school newspaper (social and cultural events + information about courses and exams)... Nothing really seems to need improvements!

Personal recommendation
Wonderful experience. The teaching at school is great and the student association is even better! Amazingly well organized and events all the time: parties of course, but as well company visits and presentations, sport tournaments, sliding and skiing days, free movies, theater, opera & hockey game tickets at the best prices, cottage week-ends, trips ... Don´t have time to get bored!! Wide range of choices, among all possibilities offered you will for sure find something which will fits you!

Final comments
Don´t be afraid about the weather in the winter! It rarely rains, so the cold is "dry" and it feels different. You will survive it without any trouble!
Travel: Cruise to Stockholm , Tallinn in Estonia (ferries every day: departure at 8 in the morning and return at 22.), St Pertersburg, and to stay in Finland: Lapland.
