ICADE is certainly a prestigious university in Spain and an asset for your CV. It does not have a campus as such, and therefore there is not much of a campus life style. The teaching style may seeem a bit old fashioned to students from more anglosaxon academic traditions, but it really depends on the teacher. Work load and academical standard is good, but not too demanding (again depending on the person). I managed to get good results in all subjects and still have time for a rich social live outside university.

Enjoy your stay - and if you are on the E-4 programme do not miss out on the introduction weekend. It was great fun and an excellent way to get to know your class mates....

My experience is different to other people's because of the nature of the Dual-Degree Programme. If you come over as an exchange student / ERASMUS it is alot easier, less hours and the teachers aren't as strict. But on my programme we are treated just like the spanish students and there are no favours. I definitely would not recommend you choosing the Dual Degree Programme at Dublin City University (European Business Studies) if you don't have a knowledge of the language already.

Have a job ready for when you get back because it´s hard to find the time to look for one while you´re here.

Come to Madrid to have a good time and make sure you remember to do so while you´re here. There´s tons to do and see and the time flies while you´re here.

Personal savings<br>
An ERASMUS grant
Work opportunities:

Personal spending habits
Rent in Madrid is comparable to, or higher than, rent in Dublin in most cases. I didn't use the phone much. Alcohol is much cheaper (excluding in places like Kapital). Groceries are much cheaper.

Personal comments
Go out in Chueca/Malasana instead of to niteclubs which are generally more expensive. Some phone-cards can be a lot cheaper than others. Mundiamigo (?) was a good one I think. The sales are excellent (August and after Christmas).
