Lyon isn't that great a city. I chose it because I thought it would be more French. It was, but it didn't offer any more of a French experience. Seriously, Paris or Quebec, despite the accent, is a better place to have fun. France is overrated. I've studied abroad their twice for a total of 18 months, and I speak French very well, but not because of my college experience. I did it in high school. If you must study French, go to a really, really small town with no other intl students or Paris. Otherwise study Spanish.

My stay was really great, although the courses at the university could have been better. Going out is very expensive, but private parties didn't lack;

Lyon is much easier to live and function in than Paris. Great location for travel as well.
