I was surprised how well I could adjust to the language and the dialect. At the end of my stay I felt myself really relaxed and didn´t notice anymore that I was studying in a foreign language!!!!

An ERASMUS grant
Other sources of funding:
A private grant
Work opportunities:
I worked during my study abroad experience
Personal spending habits
My telephone bill was bigger, because I still had the finnish net and I paid for the calls of my family. Travelling was a must, because Austria is so centrally located and it was easy to travel everywhere. Food is cheaper in Austria than in Finland and my accommodation also. So, overall the costs were less than in Finland.

Personal comments
A surprise was that I spent less money than I thought I would. My cost saving tip is that on grocery stores buy the local brands: they are as good as the others and always cheaper.

Final comments
Austria is an interesting mixture of west and east and the culture is a conbination of this. The people are really nice and the dialects cute(don´t be disappointed if you don´t understand them all, the most Austrians don´t either!). With a little effort you´ll find all the information needed from the host university and the welcome guide was really good: read it carefully and you don´t have anything to worry about!!!
