If you have a chance, the LSE Summer School is definitely an excellent opportunity to experience London life in a few weeks.

Highly recommend LSE Summer School Program. Very international student body, great chance to make many new friends. Excellent particularly for people that may never have been to London.

“LSE: Sleeping in the library and other essentials for get-go students”

Overall
If LSE were a fictional character, it would be Amy Santiago (Brooklyn 99) - strictly focused on career and studies, but is able to have a good time once in a while.
While the courses are interesting to study, one should invest himself without relying too much on the professors. The library is one of the best places on campus, although other buildings have good study spots and cafes.
Also, the career services offer a great deal of advice on future prospects.
Social life has a good standing at LSE, as students bond over mutual pain of applying for jobs and intense exams; plenty of societies that organise grand conferences and trips to other countries. The banter is always there, you just need to find one that suits you.

Pros
A lot of career opportunities within LSE itself are complemented only by its location. Being the heart of London, LSE is surrounded by major firms and is well-connected.
Cons
Sometimes LSE can be a true dementor- pressure of work and applications make it difficult to truly enjoy the time at uni.

I wish I had known...
that I would feel like home so soon!
I didn't expect to like London in any but the social/fun way!
now I know I would love to live there and I would have chosen a longer stay; two courses instead of one... :)

take the chance to make it yours! London has so many things to offer, that you should make a plan on what you want to do once there, because otherwise tons of other things come in the way and you are too busy doing other stuff, visiting all the other interesting places but those you had inicially planned to.

Everything was a new and very important experience for me. First time away from home, but i loved London life and spirit as well as my academic experience, however hard i had to study.
I felt very comfortable even from the beginning and now i fell stronger and more prepared to go out in the real world of job opportunities!

I wish I had known...
I wish I had been more aware of the importance of being "fit for fight". I was too conserned with working crazy hours to earn enough money to make it through the year, that when my studies started I most of all needed a big vacation and wasn't very ready for the crazy-paced studies. Soon also got to experience how vulnerable one can feel when things happen to your family and you're far away from home. That can be a real challenge and give you difficulties coping with your everyday student life. It's important to look after yourself and be honest to yourself if you feel that things are getting more and more difficult

It's a good university - the library is a nightmare, though. I also feel that it's reputation is a bit hyped up. It's academic quality wasn't all that impressive. But the international mix of student was interesting (I wished for more naitives, though - were were all the brits?)

Don't become a travel agent for all of your friends. Visits can be really, really nice , but sometimes it can be a true hazzle as well. Tell friends if it's not very convenient for them to come visit you whenever they fancy. It can be so hectic you'll end up hating your best friends for a little while.

London is big, wet and lonely at times. But it can also be trully amazing, and living/studying here has made me grow up much more than if I had just stayed home

Shield yourself against the arrogant, pretentious brats by pointing at them and laughing. There is a lot of really friendly and interesting people at the LSE, though they aren't the loud ones and therefore can be a bit difficult to find at first. Academically, I thought LSE lived up to its hype and it is probably the best institution for international independent, strong minded students
