Personal comments
Although the swedish spoken in south of Swden (skåne) differs from swedish spoken in Finland or in Stockholm (capital) area , once you get used to the intonation and to the rhythm you pick up the languae very easily. Language used i by professors is easy to understand , and everyone will modify their pronounciation to make it easier for foreigners. Overall knowledge of english is excellent, like in most scandinavian countries.

Personal comments
Positive aspects: well arranged; fast internet access via LAN (included in the rent); close contact to people from all over the world (in my case: ten people from four continents); high degree of independence concerning decisions among students (help of housing desk rarely needed) Negative aspects: high rent (as is usual in Sweden anyway); sometimes too much people in too few space: scarce privacy

I advise you to simply go and have fun, becuse your going to love it. Lund University employees are there to help you and guide you all the way through so there is really nothing to worry about as long as all the paper work is properly done.

The first thing you have to do at the beginning of your stay you have to get a member of a students Nation!!! That are the areas where the parties are going on. I think all over Lund there must be around 15 or more Nations. It is similar to a social club which is run by students. There a students rooms to stay, always a disco, Café, Restaurant and a lot of activities!!! Join them it is fun!! All over Lund there a lot of nice Cafés and Rstaurants. One thing I have really enjoyed there, was the "Dagens Lunch" nearly every restaurant has some specials for Lunch they are cheap and always delicious and a good alternative to the University Cafeteria. Another possibility is to join one of the students Nations for Lunch, students are cooking for students, cheap and good.
