Commentaire personnel
Since my English was fluent already before the exchange in Montreal, I didn't have any problems studying there. Furthermore, Montreal is a great place, because most of the locals are bi-lingual and the population diversity is huge. Communication with people, regardless of context or situation, is easy here.

Dépenses habituelles
FOOD: I often spent long hours at school and ate at restaurants. TELEPHONE: I mostly made long-distance calls. Cost/minute is pretty low (compared with Sweden) when pre-paid cards are used. You can buy these pretty much everywhere and the competition between the different providers is cut-throat (good for your wallet :)

If you wanna open a bank account in Canada during your stay, it may be a good idea to check out CIBC, they had good deals for students (especially if you stay as a client at least 90 days and keep a minimum of 1000 CAD in the account). However, always check the latest information with different banks, things may change with time...

Recommandations de cours
If you do an MBA exchange at McGill the wise thing when choosing courses is the following list: 1. choose 4-5 courses in advance according to the instructions on the web or the material from the faculty 2. Go "shopping" for both the chosen courses and other courses that interest you. During the first two weeks you can make necessary changes free of charge and pick the courses that you really like.

Recommandation personnelle
Try to arrange a sort of room/apartment swap possibility for exchange students. It probably sounds easy to let exchange students from abroad to get in touch with Canadian students who are also going on exchange, but, as far as I know, such thing doesn't really exist.

1. Visit Quebec City, it's a very nice "European" town where most people only speak French and the surroundings, as well as the center look beautiful, cozy and exciting. 2. Don't forget to go on a ski trip, it's possible during both all semesters (except the summer semester) and if you are not experienced with skiing, that's definitely not a problem. 3. Since Montreal is the heart of Canada's Quebec province, the native language of the majority of its population is French. If you want to improve your French or start learning it, choose Montreal for your exchange!

Logement
Type de logement: En famille
Organisé par: Indépendant - seul choix possible
Si j'y retournais je choisirais: Échange de logement
Pourquoi?
If you have time prior to the start of the exchange program to arrange a room exchange the chances are that you can get a good deal both financially and with a good overall quality, including the rental duration.

Commentaire personnel
If you choose McGill in Montreal for your exchange studies, be aware that it can take time to find an accomodation in the beginning of the semester and that the university provides you with a web-based database where all people (not only students) in Montreal can put their housing ads. Visit www.mcgill.ca and find out more! However, the university doesn't actually own any student dormitories. They can only help you with information (ads, both ways) but you have to do your own search and call the people to arrange things.
