“Rating Michigan State University”
Yennah K
United States,
Business Studies, 2024
Overall
I overall enjoy Michigan State University's business college. However, I have not been in person for a majority of my enrollment due to Covid and studying abroad, so I will have a better grasp of the school this upcoming semester. I like the clubs they offer, but do wish that the school was more diverse and in a different location.

Pros
MSU has a great sense of tradition and school spirit. There are lots of different activities that are available to take part in and a great business school.
Cons
The demographic is not very diverse and the weather can be hard to adjust to at times.

“Saginaw valley state University has really good people who is always read to help the students out whatever he/she needed”

Overall
It’s a nice University , the application process is the easiest among all the colleges I applied to in the state of Michigan. The admission processing team gives you all the feedback you need as soon as you apply and they keep in touch with you.
I can recommend this University to everyone all day all night because it made it easy for me to apply despite being in the pandemic.

Well, the telephone bills almost didn´t exist. I was talking much less to someone by phone, because calling someone from campus is free and talking to my friends in Austria was free through Skype. I probably saved 400euros. The food was more expensive, especially fruits and vegetables. Moreover, at MSU you are not able to drink the tap water, so you must buy mineral water which was around $140 for 4 months.Housing was expensive for me, as I have my own appartment in Vienna and consequently do not have to pay for it. Coctails are much more expensive - up to $10. According to travel you must not forget to book everything around 4months in advance.

Personal comments
As I mentioned before, plan and book your trips 3 to 4 months before - you can safe up to $400 and if you travel with a friend you safe $600. I would suggest you not to pay with credit cards, or your students ID because you lose sight of your bills. Although it is more convenient - don´t do it. Moreover, there are a lot of second-hand text books which are in pretty good condition, neverthess they are really expensive - I paid $560 for 4 books and 2 of them I hardly used.I would recommend to ask native students where to get everything, as they know the cheapest place.

Housing
Type of housing: On campus
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why?
To get to know something else, even if it is less convenient than a dorm on campus.
I would try to live in a(n) house/appartment with several students from different nationalities if posible

Personal comments
It was very convenient (linen facilities, cafeteria, weight-room, close from classes and sports facilities, etc). Moreover, my hall had some students from lots of different nationalities on top of American which made the experience even richer.
