I spent less mainly because the standard of living in Chile is much lower than it is in Ireland. Living one year in Chile is cheaper than one year in Dublin, Ireland.

It took me awhile to get used to the chilean accent having only ever heard the Spain's spanish accent, once I got the hang of the basic slang it got easier. There is an awful lot of slang used in Chile.
