For accomodation: try to live at the "science 44 coop", where most exchange students stay. It's cheap and really fun! it's independent from uni but ask the queen's international center about it.

It's a small town but it is very well located and people should really give it a try. I had such a great experience, the classes are really good, people are motivated by their studies but they are also very warm and welcoming. I travelled a lot and met lots of amazing people from all over the world.

No, I think our exchange office briefed us regarding everything we needed to know, and we had a good support network out there.

I'd definitely encourage people to go. They have an excellent system in place for exchange students so that you're made to feel at home very quickly and all the administration is carried out quickly and without any problems.

Housing
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Independently - My choice
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why?
Living in the "ghetto" was a great experience. You are fairly close to campus and you have the opportunity to meet a lot of students.

In general, the university residences are good. West Campus is about a 10 minute walk from main campus, but other than that all of the rez's are very close. However, as an international student it is best to search the International Housing website and find new and interesting housemates. The people that live in rezs are mainly first year students and there is not a lot of diversity within that group.

Perfect university experience

Campus: in my opinion, Queen's has the best campus of all Ontario universities! It is right on the water and is small enough that you feel as if you are part of a community and will always bump into people you recognize on the street. The winters are quite cold and snowy, but the summers are gorgeous.
Courses: I can only comment on mechanical engineering courses, but they are incredible. The professors

Careers
The career office offers assistance in interviews, resume and cover letter building, and many networking/career fair opportunities. They also manage a job board where companies can post potential internships for Queen's students. The career office largely focuses on internships within Canada, so students seeking international internship opportunities must work largely independently.

A close-knit school community

Overall
I really enjoy the positive and uplifting environment at Queen's. You are always able to find help from others and there are many resources available for people looking for help in their studies. The student community surrounding Queen's is a very close knit neighborhood, which is something I really enjoy about Queen's. I am currently in my third year of mechanical engineering, so am taking classes upon the likes of solid mechanics, dynamics, and thermodynamics. These are courses I began to take in second year, and that I really enjoy.

Careers
The school offers a QUIP program, which assists Queen's students in all different faculties in finding 12-16 month internships. This is a program I am currently enrolled in, and am using, along with other resources, to find an internship for next year. The QUIP program offers a job board with many postings all over Canada, and is very easy to use. You have the opportunity to take cover letter/resume and interview workshops to assist people in their search. Overall, I am really enjoying being a part of QUIP so far.
