Course recommendations
Palaces and Country Houses is a really popular course that includes field trips to various places. Contemporary London Theatre is an awesome class that includes trips to see 7 or so really good shows that you might not otherwise see on your own.

Overall, I think the school does a great job of making sure you actually learn something, while at the same time acknowledging that you're going to be very busy with traveling, etc.

The pound to the dollar conversion was horrible at the time...as I suspect it still might be. Everything was about twice as much money.

I expected everything to be really expensive before I even went there, so it wasn't much of a surprise. My advice is to try to not use ATM machines so much, to save on transaction charges. Using credit cards can save you more in the long run.

Central London is the absolute best for clubs, bars, and theatre! Weeknights are the cheapest for going clubbing...check TimeOut for clubs having drink specials. Besides traveling on your own, Regent's College also arranges weekend trips to places like Edinburgh, Paris, and Wales, as well as daytrips to Stonehenge, Canterbury, etc, that end up cheaper and easier than if you'd done it on your own.

The dorms are pretty small, but if your only going to be there for a semester its not that big of a deal. The community of students is pretty small and everyone becomes really close--towards the end i got kind of tired of being with all the same people though.

I have relatives in Italy and the Netherlands, so I minimized accomodation cost by staying with them. Also, use student ID card, because students could have special rates in some places.

Course recommendations
If you can take Professor Hurst for English lit. courses, definitely do so. And if you want to go to about 9-10 plays for free, take Contemporary London Theatre.

I only wish there were more computers available on campus...or that they made internet access ready dorms.
