Check out the European Law and International Law courses at the faculty of Law!!! You can attend them, even if you aren't a law student; just contact the exchange student coordinator for more information. Notice, though, that most of the courses in English at the Faculty of Law are LL.M. courses, so they are quite demanding and require a lot of studying. At the Faculty of Humanities there aren't many courses given in English, except for the Ducth Studies programme, the courses of which are interesting but not very challenging, since the academic backround of the students attending them varies a lot. The Dutch language courses are really useful, though!

In the Netherlands it's crucial to attend the first class of the course. In that moment groups of students (that will work together for the whole course) are made and if you are missing, you'll not have a group and you cannot make your exam

Be sure that all professors will do their best to make you feel right about choosing Groningen for your studies: perfectly well organised, innovative teaching methods, capacities in interacting with foreign students, fluent english. Personal reccomendation: International law, African law(!), Sociology of Law.- Do take the best advantage of the Univ. library just opposite the University, where a wide range of sources of knowledge, from books to multimedia, will assist you in gaining he information you need.

It is very important to check the University Intranet very frequently.

Teacher should be more in relation with students. They put all the tasks on the Intranet but there is little contact between teachers and students.

If you study psychology, the choice of courses in english is not big (most of them are in dutch). You have to meet the teachers yourself and to arrange something with them...

More courses of psychology in english

For many courses the final grade is computed as an average of final exams and assignments, so it is recommendable to start studying soon. Exams are not impossible to pass, but not that easy either. Study!
