Yes. It's better if you have your own medical insurance, because the university's insurance costs about twice, and covers the same.

Since I had been studying in other countries before going to the USA, my English was not so bad. At the beginning I had some problems with the accent but that was it. As soon as I was used to it, I had no real problems.
