I would go to the same place I have been again. There were a lot of students living in the same building and this made it much easier to meet new people and socialize.

I spend more money on food, as the prices are higher in Finland than in Austria, especially on fruits and vegetables. Furthermore, in Austria I went home every weekend and then I did not have to buy any food myself at all. I spend more money on going out, as I just have more time to go out and from an academical point of view I am not at all as busy as I usually am in Austria. I also thought this exchange semester would be a good time to travel around. Overall, including my journey back home via France and Germany to visit friends, I will have been to 8 different countries within 5 months.

Try to choose courses which are mandatory for the finish students. Others are hardly visited by finish students which makes it more difficult to interact with them.

Choose the courses carfully and try to ask finish students first what they know about the teacher and the course in general.

No, not really. I talked to students who have been there before, so I guess I was pretty good informed.
