I was already speeking spanish when I went to mexico because my mother is argentinan, but I learnt all the mexican expressions and slang which are very different from the argentinan ones.

I was already very fluent (many people thought I was a native) in Spanish before I went and so I did not have any difficulties, my experience was very good.
