Personal comments
Almost all of the exchange student stayed off campus, so I do not have much experience of the accomodation that the University offers, but my general impression is that the on campus options are not attractive. But off campus (renting houses privately) is amazing and there are a lot of fantastic options close to campus.

Personal comments
Before I even got to New Orleans, people often thought I was American, so I had no problems with the language. But I did notice that many of the local students were very open towards me, while some of the other foreign students had problems, because they were not as good at speaking English.

Don't leave your friends at bars (I mean alone) Behave like a local from the first day Check out all hot places with local friends, they will help you to sort out tourist hype from real treasures of this great place. Buy a laptop, it will help a lot, especially if you will be travelling to Florida (2 hours drive and you are in Destin, best white sand in Florida!)
