Personal recommendation
A quite small university, the relation to the teachers are really cooperative, you get the chance to improve your English. Very good computer and internet facilities, organized travels, organized parties. The office of international affairs is very helpful. There are plenty of interesting courses in English!

Travel tips: Join the trip to Russia (Moscow, St. Petersburgh) It's really worth to see! Visit Savonlinna with the castle of Olavinlinna and the ridges of punkaharju (Rent a car and drive around a little bit, there are a lot of places worth to see!) Rovaniemi on the arctic circle (a small ity with a Santa Clause Parc and Post office, a really interesting museum and rendeer farms and husky riding with a sledge!) Take the ferry to stockholm and visit this beautiful swedish capital! (I was there 3 times)! Also the ferry is worth to see! (Viking Line - 11 floors with various restaurants and bars, take the buffet when you book the journey!) Tallinn, the estonian capital is only 2:30 hours with the ferry from Helsinki and has a really nice old town (and cheap alcohol in comparison to Finland) Helsinki is only about 2 hours from Turku and a quite nice town. (It's enough if you go there for one night!) You can see all sights on one day! Take an international student card with you, which is valid for the whole study year otherwise you don't get a student reduction on the local buses in Turku. Ask everything, if you are not really sure, because finnish can be a very confusing language and the people are quite helpful. I'm sure, you'll enjoy your stay there!

I chose Finland to improve my English. I never had problems with English, but I wanted to integrate English in my studies of my home country, because it's really important to speak English fluently if you want to contacts to people all over the world and also for the future working situation as English is dominating the business activities. From talking what is really necessary I learned to talk a lot in every situation of life with various people from all over the world. There are students from all over the world and you talk to them as if they were your best friends from home! It was really great! If you experienced it, you know what I mean!

My accomodation was Uni-Hostel in the student village. It had central position to a small food store, to a pub and to 2 universities of Turku. The room was well furnitured and really clean. The kitchen was shared by 12 students, but it was cleaned every day. Everything was available: Television, iron board, cleaning facilities, coffe maker, microwave, oven, dish washer... The people living on this floor were also really nice and I enjoyed living there!
