At first I was constantly thinking in English the word or phrase before I said it, and after my program I would not have to stop and think in English anymore. I could actually have and understand a conversation

At first it is a bit nerve racking if you are not that familiar with the language but you realise that you learn new things every day. try and surround yourself with as much of the language as possible

I think that taking all of my courses in Spanish allowed me to become quite proficient in the language. Now, I feel at ease in most all situations in which I need to speak Spanish.

A good level is an advantage to be efficient. Anyway, mixing up with the local students will better your level very quickly and even give you the opportunity to learn some slang.

i didn't know spanish at all and it was pretty difficult for me to communicate there because at spain nobody speaks english..finally i learnt the basics and the things were much better!!
