Housing
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Independently - My choice
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why?
Living with Spanish students in an apartment (no houses really in Sevilla) is the best way to go: leanr spanish, make friends, and still have the freedom to come and go and have others over whne you want.

Personal comments
The university offered both dorm style and regular apartments for students. Prices were comparable to the U.S., but they include food as well. I lived independetly in a private apartment with Spanish students, which I gathered was far better way to go: more freedom, not single sex (dorms are), and ability to cook own food whenever.

Academic
Course recommendations
All the courses that I took were of high quality, and I think if your Spanish is good enough, take classes with Spaniards, which is a great experience. UPO allows you to take any class you want, in and out of the program. THe variety and freedom is incrediable, if you have the discipline.

It is very good here. The program is in its first year, but they are open to all kinds of input and changes. Exams always suck, but they help you learn and overall the classes were not that difficult.

Final comments
Sevila is a beautiful city, close to both Madrid (too big and expensive) and the coast (beautiful). It is big enough to have everything you want, and still small enough to be manageble. Great university, cheap too. And I learned Spanish!

Personal comments
I learned more Spainsh in two months her than in two years back home. If you live with Spaniards and constantly speak spanish, try hard in your classes, and constatly try to improve your Spanish on your own time, the same will happen to you.
