Ryan Air at Valladolid Airport (i should have known), don't live with another person native from your homecountry, especially when you're not sure she's the appropriate person for you, it's better to live with unknown people than someone you already know from your college but don't really get along. make a language course and enjoy all the cultural events, not just alcohol (sometimes the best thing is to stay home with your friends doing something interesting, not going out till late!)

Go to Salamanca to improve your Spanish, meet people from all over Europe and Latin America, but do not be dissappointed by the educational system, it is different and for some old-fashioned.

Do visit Madrid, Santiago de Compostela, Portugal and of course TOLEDO! You will get to know so much people you needn't worry about being alone!

There are organized trips for Erasmus students, which are very useful, because you can get in contact with students from spain and others. Just travel as long you can afford it!

Erasmus students are treated differently, sometimes worse, which I did not like. Administrative Staff treats you like you were a bit stupid, just because your language skills are not perfect.
However, lecturers and students were very nice and helpful.

Trains and coaches are very clean, not too expensive and reliable. It is easy to get around the whole country without too much to organise. Andalucia is definately worth seeing.

that getting accomm before is not essential as its so easy to acquire when you arrive throuhg adverts posted everywhere. and this means you can get a shared flat which works out much cheaper than living alone and is great for meeting new people.

make use of the great bus services from salamanca to madrid and vice versa for getting there and getting back to the airport in madrid. there are also great services to other parts of spain which you should make use of to do some travelling in your spare time!
