housing was really expensive, i lived in the center, but I guess all "erasmus-flats" are quiet overpriced because the landlords know that we have to live somewhere and that they can ask for much money. nightlife is really cheap. Overall I might have spent more for nightlive than at home but just because I went out more often. For traveling I spent much more, but just because I don't travel around that much at home, and I wanted to see as much of the beautiful country as possible. Overall I spent more money than at home, but I wanted to enjoy my stay.

Surprisingly, costs in lisboa were comparable to those in munich (where standard of living is quiet high). I spent a lot of money for telephone costs, because I had to buy a mobile one and rates to Germany were high (there didn´t exist a telephone from the local Telecom in my flat). Most goods had almost the same price as the ones in Germany - or were even more expensive.

Transfering money to an account at a bank in Portugal can be quiet expensive! A cost-saving way could be the use of a credit-card/Euro-card.
