Milan is an expensive city compared to the rest of Italy and certainly the Netherlands. My rent was double of what it is at home and supermarkets were very expensive.

for travel and nightlife more, because i simply had more of it during the exchange; besides, instead of train tickets i found most things more expensive than in austria
