Try to travel to Venice, Bologna, Firenze, and so on. If you like to go by bike, there are the Colli Euganei (very beautiful).
for banking, if you are german, take the "spar card" of "Post" you can take money without paying 4 times in the year.
Going to Padua it is helpfull to look for a room early, because there are no much rooms.

I did my undergraduate program at the university of pauda. The university offers lots of services and they are also helpful.

I would relly recommend Padova, they have an erasmus association which organised social events for erasmus students and also an exchange with italian students so you can improve your language
