Actually I have got every needed information before leaving through my home and host university and trough many friends who did exchange in Germany, Cologne before... I was lucky one! :o)

It's great but you have to make an effort. Don't expect anything to be handed to you and you have to be patient the first few weeks - give the place a chance and through 100% energy into it.
