I lived at Manu-Park student apartments, which is just across the street from the Uni, at the Manufacture des Tabac campus. The price was is the same league as all other student houses, and I liked the location, being just one minutes walk from class.

In the beginning classes were a nightmare! I didn't understand anything. But it all falls into place after a while. You'll be fine!

Taking the currency into account, cost of life was pretty expensive but liveable. Nightlife could get pretty expensive, especially if you frequent popular bars. Housing was less expensive due to CAF assistance.

Be prepared to pay more than expected for social security, insurance and residence deposits. Be sure that the insurance they are asking you to pay for is really necessary. You may find yourself paying for something you already have from home.

Australian Pub, Sevilla Pub, other bars nearby Hôtel de Ville. Bautiful to see: Parc de la Tête d'Or, the Art Museum, Sain Georges quarter. Travelling: Paris with the TGV, Swiss, North Italy an d other little French towns (Vienne, Anecy...)

Vieux Lyon rocks! :) most beautiful and charming area i know, parties in cafe ORANGE and smoking dog. Boats on the Rhone are good party spots too. U gotta go to the park, stad de gerland and to see the city from basilique de la Fourviere!!

It was great! We had a small appartment each in a student's residence with lots of both french and international students and there was a great ambiance and social life.
