I wish I had known...
I wish that I had known that none of these courses would help me towards my degree in Engineering or my degree in Geology and Geophysics.

Aix is more than the university, it is the entire town, and most of what you will learn will not be from the classroom.

It was difficult to interact with local students though they were uninteressed in us foreigners. But if you live in a country for one semester, you learn the language in one way or the other.

Aix ist a very beautiful little town with lots of international students. For me, almost everyday was a great day there. The lovely Provence invites to nice trips an I loved the sunny wheather. I liked everything very much and till now, this was the best year of my life.

Aix provided the perfect stage to develop french language skills to any desired Niveau. Really it just comes to putting in the effort. If you want to become fluent, you will with the right effort and persistence. If you want to socialize only with anglophones or with whatever your dialect is... dont expect to proress much. My recommendation would be to go out alot, speak with and socialize with Frenchies.

I had to learn French, because the French are usually not proficient in English whatsoever. This was a great learning experiment, I couldn't just switch to English when I pleased.
