I wish I had known...
bring a car, if you can! it makes traveling around much easier. Bretangne's cost line is definitely worth it - especially during the weekends and during holidays you might want to leave the city - Rennes is empty then; French students often return to their home towns.

I would advise people to know the basics of the language and prior knowledge of the food. Because language will be a barrier for you to interact with the local people.

much more expensive to drink in bars in Rennes than in Ireland. Accomadation is much cheaper on campus in france than in ireland. Most people rang me to my mobile rather than me ringing them

i went with alot of other irish students and so found it hard sometimes to make an effort in speaking french. Found interaction with french students difficult at first but then throughout the semester it improved

The irish bar wasn't the best as there wasn't really an irish atmosphere in it. Found alot of the French bars and restaurants very good and very irish-friendly. The nightclubs were very good aswell
