Valencia, famous a couple of years ago for ´la ruta bakalao´ unfortunately lacks in quality clubs. Bars, well el barrio del Carmen is really the place to be. Other areas outside of the centre are situated along la avenida Blasco Ibañez, but the fact that all these places are at the bottom of apartment buildings, there really isn´t much outdoor atmosphere, you actually have to go into any given place to see what it´s like. That´s where el barrio del Carmen (el Carme) is great, especially in the warmer months where you can sit in the old streets and watch the people passing by. Probably the most important thing to remember is that no one is out before midnight, and don´t even ...

Housing
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Independently - My choice
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why?
On campus is way too expensive, though the rooms are very nice. Also, you can find a better location by yourself.

I only visited the campus accomodation. The meals were included in the rent and the cost works out to be about 4000 pts per day. That´s about $40 Aus. Most of the people i knew there either were there with a scholarship, or had very wealthy parents.

Personal recommendation
Not too strongly, but to say the art faculty is different from the other faculties would be an understatement.

Final comments
The university is quite good overall. When they organise it, there big scale parties are very...entertaining. Other faculties are not the same as the arts, for example you wouldn´t see an engineering student smoking a joint in their caf. I think that a student from a different faculty should also do this survey so that you get a clearer idea about it.
