Not because home country is more expensive, on the contrary, Spain is quite cheap. But at life as an Erasmus student is quite sociable, you spent more money and time on nightlife, travel etc. Also the housing was more expensive as the location was very good. Food is definitely cheaper, but you tend to go out to dinner much more often than at home.

Housing
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Independently - I had no other choice
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why?
The independence and the troubles regarding it, is something i was hopping to live thru this experience.
Negotiate, was stressful but cooking and cleaning have proven to be very easy.

All I can say is that you will probably spend more than you think you will. Before you go abroad, try to think of every possible cost that you could encounter.
