If you show interest in their language, people in general are more helpful and it's a lot easier to become friends. The main reason for thas is that most of the Spanish students don't speak fluentin English or other foreign languages

They do not have any housing offers for exchange stundets, except for a building which is outside Barcelona, in Badalona actually and it takes forever to reach the University. Better try to find one yourself

"Sanitas" is a very good and cheap health insurance, if you don't have an international one, this is a very good option. Another tip is to buy groceries not in supermarkets but in the small groceries stores near the street market.
