The local language of the city were I was, is dutch, and I was not interested at all to learn it. My language of instruction and in the social life was english, and I could improve it.

I practiced a lot my English, but in fact I wanted to study French. One problem, in Gent the mother tongue is Dutch, and then they prefer to speak English in place of French.
